The Black Cat is located on the 3rd floor of the old-world Sycamore Square building and offers a warm and welcoming charm, accented by exposed brick, original hardwood floors and over-sized windows showcasing views of Fairhaven & Bellingham Bay.

Come join us for our classic American bistro-style menu along with our full bar menu. Our social house atmosphere has been an attraction to locals and visitors for decades. It is the perfect place to share an intimate cocktail, join a group for Happy Hour or to throw a party in our Cat’s Alley!

The Black Cat has been around since 1987. It took the place of La Creperie, which was closed down in 1983 after a fire and notorious drug bust. The area had been gutted, and the restaurant was restored with a French Cabaret theme, and named the new restaurant Le Chat Noir, The Black Cat. The current Black Cat was renovated in 2013 and continues to be a fun, casual gathering spot for neighbors, families and visitors to enjoy great drinks, local beers and American bistro-style food.
